The amateur radio General License questions are reviewed, modified, and re-published every four years. The current license questions became effective on July 1, 2015 and remain valid until July 1, 2019 when a new question pool will be issued.

Our Southcars organization runs an on air four-week course shortly after each release of new questions. In doing so our class material and audio recordings are maintained on our website until a new pool is released. This means that any time during the four-year period this information may be used for self-study. We also accept and answer any questions, at any time, by you sending an email to VOIP@SCARSVOIP.COM. Please detail your question in any such communication.

August-2013

AS A RESULT OF A RECENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING OUR SCARS OUTREACH CLASS PRESENTATION METHOD WILL BE CHANGING.

THE CLASSES FOR 2013 HAVE NOW ALL BEEN COMPLETED. THE CLASSES FOR 2014 AND BEYOND WILL BE SCHEDULED DIFFERENTLY.

BASED ON THE FACT THAT OUR VEC PROGRAM, BY DESIGN, ISSUES A REVISED QUESTION POOL FOR THE DIFFERENT LICENSE CLASS EVERY FOUR YEARS, AND FURTHER THAT WE HERE AT SCARS HAVE A WEALTH OF CLASS INFORMATION ARCHIVED ON OUR WEBSITE, WE HAVE ELECTED TO RUN ONLY THE CLASS WHERE THE QUESTION POOL IS BEING CHANGED FOR THE YEAR.

THE TECHNICIAN LICENSE WILL BE CHANGING FIRST AND EFFECTIVE JULY 1 2014, THE GENERAL CHANGES IN 2015, AND THE EXTRA IN 2016.

WE ARE ENCOURAGING VERY STRONGLY FOR YOU THAT ARE INTERESTED IN UPGRADING TO USE OUR INFORMATION POSTED ON THE WEBSITE UNDER A SELF STUDY SCENARIO. WE FURTHER ENCOURAGE YOU TO FEEL FREE TO COMMUNICATE WITH US AT VOIP@SCARSVOIP.COM AT ANYTIME YOU MAY HAVE QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE SUBJECT MATERIAL YOU ARE WORKING ON.

1800 EDT 6-20-2012

The General course for 2012 completed last evening June the 19th. Our class participants were highly motivated, extremely punctual, attendance was high during all of the nine classes, and two of our students have already passed the exam. In fact these two did so about half way through the course.

SCARS Outreach programming will continue with offering the Extra exam starting on July 8th and running until August the 14th. Information requests on these programs may be sent to VOIP@SCARSVOIP.COM.

1130 EDT 4-27-2012

Your SCARS Outreach class support team was required to reevaluate the General class for this year. It was originally scheduled to run from April 29th to May the 27th. It has now been moved out by three weeks to start on May 20th, and run through June 17th. The reason for this move was a very small enrollment class currently, and one not sufficient in size to support the program. We will be using this additional 3 weeks to promote more interest in the program and will be making a final decision on class availability as we get closer to mid May.

The SCARS flag will be run up the flag pole when the Outreach General class starts in just two days.

If you have not registered for the class and would like to, please email us at VOIP@SCARSVOIP.COM. Your SCARS support team is very excited in being able to offer this class to those interested, and particularly after just concluding our Technician course which was found to be very successful.
